Does Shed One Distillery offer distillery experiences or tastings?

Shed One Distillery was the first distillery in Cumbria to offer Make Your Own Distilled Gin experiences. In 2022 it won Best Experience in the Cumbria Tourism Awards and then Silver at the Visit England Awards in 2023. Andy & Zoe have enhanced this experience since then and also offer Make Your Own Botanical Vodka. In 2025 it won the Best Experience in the Cumbria Tourism Awards. What makes all the experiences special is that Andy & Zoe, the distillers and owners, host every one. They keep groups small, so visitors get a more personal and fulfilling experience.
The distillery tour and tasting begins with a welcome tipple then gives you an insight into the workings of Shed One Distillery, followed by tastings of a further 5 spirits. Then you get to choose your favourite for a second G&T.
Their very popular Afternoon G&Tea combines a welcome G&T and distillery tour with a botanical-inspired afternoon tea served with vintage crockery, cake stands and proper napkins! Zoe bakes everything in the Shed One Distillery kitchen. It’s all gluten-free and vegetarian and has been featured in The Sunday Times. Booking is essential and there can be a waiting list.
Other special experiences include a Cocktail Class with a Twist, where you also get to make your own botanical sugar syrup to be used in your cocktail creations.
The Ultimate Distiller’s Experience is just that. Spending time with Andy and Zoe, over a day and a half, learning about the art of distilling using their 100 litre still.
