Shed 1 Gin at Downing Street!

We met the Prime Minister at Downing Street on Friday, June 29th!

The event was to launch ‘Together for Our Planet’, a nationwide campaign in the run up to the UN Climate Summit in November of this year that will encourage small businesses to commit to cutting their carbon emissions. The campaign will celebrate small businesses taking steps to decarbonise their businesses and encourage and support others to similarly take these steps and commit to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.

It was an opportunity for them to share their story and the progress they’ve made towards Net Zero.

“Sustainability is at the heart of our business, and we have been putting green initiatives in place ever since we launched in 2016. As well as many measures within the distillery, like a water saving system and cardboard shredder, we also offset the carbon footprint of the botanicals and support humanitarian projects. We’re proud to say that we are a climate positive, net zero small business.” Zoe continued, “It was great to have the opportunity to talk to the PM and members of the government about our ethos and to share our initiatives and future plans.”

Shed 1 Distillery joined 8 other small businesses in the Downing Street Garden, and discussed environmental issues with the PM Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Kwasi Kwarteng, Andrew Griffith MP and small business champion Michelle Ovens CBE.

“We continue to research environmental strategies, “Andy said. “One of those is planting a tree for every order placed online. Producing a high quality product is key; however, you can do that and still be kind to the planet.”
