What botanicals are used in Shed One Distillery gin?

In order to be “gin” the main ingredient has to be juniper. After that you can add all sorts of botanicals.
Shed One Distillery’s Cuckold’s Revenge Gin includes fresh orange and lemon zest, green cardamom and layers of spice. Most of these would be considered traditional botanicals.  However, Shed One Distillery also incorporates locally-grown and foraged botanicals in both their gins and botanical vodkas.
For example, their Quince Botanical Vodka is made with quinces, pears and sage. All of which is grown in the local Ford Park’s walled garden.
Shed One Distillery’s limited edition Ulverston Gin is created with juniper, and then all the other botanicals are foraged within a mile of Shed One. You can see more about how they created Ulverston ’23 on the Channel 5 programme, Cumbria: The Lakes and The Coast. Check it out on My5 catch up.
Because Andy & Zoe only need the fresh zest from the citrus fruit, Zoe then uses all the fresh fruit to make jelly marmalade. Mixing the fruit with juniper and other botanicals. They sell the jars of marmalade and the money goes into their Marmalade Fund which is then donated to their charity partner, Furness Homeless Support.
