It's a good question, so where is the Best Afternoon Tea in Cumbria? We're lucky to have so many fabulous cafes, hotels and restaurants creating some of the Best Afternoon Tea in Cumbria and each one is special.

Here at The Shed, we've created our own making use of the botanicals found in our gins. By incorporating these in our sweet treats and including a Shed 1 Distillery Tour we feel this could be the ultimate gin lover's Afternoon Tea! We start with a welcome G&T and then a talk in the distillery with us, the owners and distillers, about Gin and Production Methods. Following on from our Gin Chat, it's back into the stylish and quirky Old Calf Shed Bar to relax with another G&T and our Botanical-Inspired Afternoon G&Tea. With orange and cardamom (used in our Cuckold's Revenge Gin) added to the chocolate in the choux buns, a Juniper Glaze over the scones, Elderflower (a Fancy Frolic Gin botanical) Shortbread with flakes of silver leaf and so much more, all have been loving created by Zoe. There's even Gin Jelly Marmalade made from the fruit not needed in our gin production-we use fresh citrus zest in most of our gins. Zoe continues to experiment and the menu is tweaked occasionally to reflect this.

We have a selection of teas from Kendal's Pennington's Teas and Coffee Roasters. All loose leaf served in vintage teapots or coffee in cafetieres, if you prefer. To finish the table is set with pretty cake stands, antique plates, lace and linen napkins and tablecloths. Perfect for a special celebration, or an indulgent treat.
