Giggle in the Ginnel 50cl

£35.00

Giggle in the Ginnel was created for a party we had in the ginnel (Northern English for alleyway) next to our house. A marvellous time was had!  Star Anise and Angelica join with Elderberry and fresh Orange zest to form a powerful gin of significant character. Warming and smooth with an interesting finish. 43%ABV

Definitely taste the hint of orange and I’m guessing the elderberry I had this neat, but this would be fantastic with tonic (or orange juice) for a really refreshing drink – great for the summer!

Lovely with Indian tonic and ice!

Of the 3 Shed 1 gins tasted so far, I was not enamoured with this gin, however, I think this was mainly due to its strong flavour of star anise which I felt overpowered the gin. Gin being fairly strong tasting spirit in its own right. It just felt that the mix of such strong flavours was too much for me all in all.

Thank you for your comments on Giggle, Cuckold’s and Fancy. Giggle tends to be the one that gets the most extreme responses, from being people’s absolute favourite to never wanting to try it again! The star anise and angelica root produce an earthy, aniseedy taste which is combined with the soft fruit of the elderberries and citrus. We have noticed that whisky drinkers tend to gravitate to Giggle. Great that you so enjoyed the others. Cheers!

Tasted this at Ulverston’s Velo Retro weekend just gone, many thanks lovely Zoe and Andy, and we both loved it. We tried it with lemon and elderflower tonic, but my whisky loving man probably preferred it neat. Working on other mixers for myself, like the idea of a twist of orange, but wow what a taste! It’s warming like a whisky. Our local coffee shop ‘Bloomfield Square’ might try making a cocktail with it for one of their evening events.
